With little budget, and hardly any time at all, Weald Creative were tasked with creating a companion eBook to UNStudio’s Knowledge Matters book. The book had to include beautifully formatted text, as well as interactive illustrations and activities such as a Timeline, and photo galleries.
We created HTML templates for the content, and devised entry points for native elements that required smoother animation, and better performance that what could be achieved through the WebKit components. The main menu had a slick accordion navigation system, with a Ken Burns effect background slideshow. Interactive elements included an organic diagram with physics based keys; a stop frame animation that the user played by dragging their finger across the screen; and an interactive timeline that the user swiped through to view photos of the Train Station over 100 years.
UNStudio were delighted with the eBook, and especially how cost-effective the project was, considering the amount of content that was published. The book is an interesting insight into the minds of these innovative pioneers of Architecture.
